It's been a while...

Wow I haven't posted since August 24th! It was so much easier to post when I have more free time in the summer....now that school has started back and therefore, the routines along with it, its been a little harder.

I am 22 weeks along now in my pregnancy. Everything is going great! My pregnancy has been so textbook. Besides being tired all of the time, I have felt great the entire time! On September 23rd, I had my monthly dr. appointment and we found out we are having a BOY! I think the people in the waiting room could hear Jade from the ultrasound room! He was so excited! Of course, so was I. I was so convinced and just knew it was a boy, I think I had come to want a boy even more than a girl. I do want a girl one day but for this first one, I am glad it's a boy. We do have a definite name picked out but are not revealing it until he's born.

I have been feeling him kick a lot here lately. More definite kicks that let me know its a kick and not just a gas bubble :) which is what it felt like at first. The other day, he was being very active and Jade even got to feel him kick. It was a very neat and special moment for both of us. I love feeling him move and kick; reminding me every day that he's in there. I love him so much already! These next four months are gonna fly by.

I've picked out a lot of the nursery stuff and can't wait to start buying and getting and setting it up. One thing we have started buying already is clothes. This baby boy is definitely not going to be needing in that department. I knew this is how it would be after we found out the gender. Before, we (me, Mom, Mamaw, Jade, etc) could resist from buying things due to the fact that we didn't know boy or girl. But now that we do know, it might not be such a good thing for our bank accounts. :)

Busy! Busy! Busy!

I have been so busy since school started last Thursday! I have a really great class this year! Very good year to have a good class....I certainly do not need any added stress like I had last year. Still trying to get back in the swing of work hours and days. Summer was so nice and I was very sad to see it go. Oh well...at least I get a good long break around February that I don't usually get! :)

Went to the doctor last Monday. Mamaw got to go with me this time. We enjoyed a nice afternoon shopping and eating out after the appointment. It was nice since we do not get to do that very often anymore.

Babies heart rate was 150 and everything was great! I'm still feeling really good but super tired since work started back. I go back on September 23rd for the second ultrasound where we'll be finding out the gender assuming the baby cooperates *crossing fingers*!

Well Worth the Wait!

Finally! Our new vehicle came in on Thursday afternoon. I had been at a conference in DeQueen and spotted it sitting at York Gary as I came back into town around 4:30. You can imagine how excited I was since I have been waiting on the thing since last Tuesday! We went to York Gary early Friday morning, parted ways with the old Cavy' and bought the Terrain! We are really enjoying it so far and are very proud of it. It was definitely time for a new one. I just love the new car smell! :)

My Growing Baby Bump

Here is a comparison of my 11 weeks belly pic and my 14 weeks belly pic. Wow! How my belly has grown in just three weeks! Love that my mom is a photographer and is helping me chronicle all of these pregnancy moments and milestones! Thanks Mom! Love you!

14 Weeks!

I'm 14 weeks along yesterday! My little one is the size of a lemon now! :) How cool! Wonder what fruit it will be next week?

I Hate Waiting!

I really hate waiting...on anything, really. I'm not good at it. I never have been.

I've been waiting since last week on a new vehicle to come in to York Gary for Jade and me to look at. We've known for a while now that my Chevy Cavalier's days are numbered. After driving to Texarkana for four years for school, it has over 120,000 miles on it. It's been a good car but it's time for a new one. Especially since we have a baby on the way. I don't want to deal with a car seat and a two door car. I'm really excited about a new vehicle!

Hopefully, it will come in soon!

Dinner and a Show...

Mom, Mamaw, Trista, Sam, Lauren, and I got to enjoy a real treat today. We went to Murry's Dinner Playhouse in Little Rock. It is a restaurant that combines a buffet dinner with professional theatre. The show playing for this month is Annie. Annie has always been one of my favorite movies. I even had the soundtrack cassette tape when I was younger and can remember my mom and I singing along to it in the car. The food was decent and the acting was excellent. I think we all thoroughly enjoyed the day. If you ever get the chance to go, you should!

Caught Ya!

This little fella has been eating my kitty's food and getting into our trash for several weeks now. Jade has been trying to catch it. I can't even stand to look at these things! Their little feet/hands are so creepy! And, that hairless tail! GROSS!

Mom, Lauren, and I had to run something out to my house late last night. While we were there, I decided to let Spinner outside to do his business. We all three walk out on the back deck and much to our surprise, we look in a cat carrier I had next to the house, and the opossum was sitting in it! I think it thought it was hidden from us. We quickly shut the door and I called Jade to tell him the good news! He came out and took it several miles away from our house near a creek. As much of a nuisance as this thing was, I didn't want to kill it. After all, the poor, nasty thing was just hungry!

Mmm!

Mmm! Spaghetti-o's and grilled cheese! What a good lunch! We sure enjoyed it.

Sam got to stay with Jade and me last night and all day today since Mom, Dad, and Walt were in Little Rock for Walt's ACH check-up. All went well with his check-up!

Finally!

It only took us a little over a year, but we FINALLY cleaned out our extra bedroom that had notoriously become our junk room since we moved in last June. You know, it's like that drawer you label the "junk drawer" to put anything you don't have a place for. It only took us all evening and into the night but it is done! Jade and I both agreed that it probably would have stayed the "junk room" a lot longer if we didn't have this motivation a.k.a. this baby coming! So...next step? Buying baby stuff!

What I'm Reading...

Right now I'm reading Eat Pray Love. It is the author, Elizabeth Gilbert's autobiography about "finding herself" as she travels through Italy, India, and Indonesia. I'm only a third of the way through the book, but thoroughly enjoying it. I absolutely love the way she writes. I would love to be able to travel the way she does in the book. I've only been out of the United States to Mexico...twice. It is definitely on my Bucket List to travel to several more countries. For now though, I will just have to live vicariously through her in this book.

The book has actually been made into a movie starring Julia Roberts and is set to be released in theaters on August 13, 2010. So, of course, my plan is to finish reading by this date so I can go watch the movie. I will then leave the theater criticizing and comparing the movie with the book....because as I know all too well from past experiences (The Other Boleyn Girl comes to mind): the movie is rarely as good as the book. But, I still intend to go watch.

13 Weeks

I am 13 weeks along today. I found a website I've been keeping up with that tells you a lot about what's going on with you and your baby on a week-to-week basis: http://www.thebump.com

I can't help but find it amusing how they tell you some sort of fruit or other object for you to compare the size of your baby to each week. This week, my baby is the size of a peach! Ha!

First Ultrasound

My first prenatal appointment was last Friday. I made the appointment the day after we found out. I never thought the day would come. I was so ready for this first ultrasound. It's not like I needed verification... BELIEVE ME, I knew I was pregnant. I just had that feeling, besides the obvious, typical symptoms (although I do have to say, I have not had any sickness whatsoever YAY!). But to see our baby moving and kicking on that screen and to hear it's heartbeat was a whole new level of realization. It made everything just that much more real. I cried and I laughed. Of course Jade was with me and my mom as well. We were all smiles leaving that office.
I was 12 weeks at this appointment and it was too early to find out the gender. We hope to get to find that out on my September visit. I'll be 20 weeks by that time. Let's just hope the baby cooperates!

My Little Baby Bump

I already have a little baby bump at 11 weeks. I'm sure this won't be the last belly pic I post :)

We're Expecting!

On June 2nd, 2010, just two days after our 1 year anniversary, Jade and I found out we were going to be parents. Looking back on that day, it was such a flood of so many different emotions: happiness, excitement, surprise, nervousness, even disbelief (Jade made me take 3 tests, just to be sure. Ha!) I've always imagined what it would be like to find out I'm going to be a mom, but the feeling I got the moment I looked at that plus sign was unlike anything I had imagined. I will never forget this day.

I'll never forget on this very day, we were headed home after making our rounds to announce to family and close friends our good news when Jade looked at me with complete bewilderment and asked "What do we do now?" We both laughed and I told him his guess was as good as mine. This whole experience is a little scary for both of us, in a good way though. We both have great parents, family, and friends, who give us great advice when we need it and are very much there for us. We have so many "first times" to look forward to and are enjoying taking this whole experience one day at a time.

There's a First Time for Everything...

I've wanted to start a blog for a while now. Up until now though, my worry has always been that I wouldn't have enough to talk about to keep one going. So I am beginning my blog in dedication to chronicaling my first pregnancy, and maybe some other random thoughts and things thrown in there as well. So...good luck to me! :)
